Where was Cramp-Stop developed?
Cramp-Stop is a homeopathic spray to use when you get cramp. It is not a supplement that you have to take regularly. It’s for when you actually get a cramp and works by stimulating the muscle to release the spasm. You spray it into your mouth.
WHAT’S IN IT?
Cramp-Stop is made up of 4 homeopathic remedies. Arnica - which is such a great soft tissue and first aid remedy. And three other remedies which specifically target muscle spasm. Cuprum, Nux Vomica and Magnesium Phosporicum, all in varying potencies.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
When you spray it into your mouth, the active ingredients are absorbed immediately by the Buckle Membranes under the tongue (to say mucous membranes is fine). The remedies act almost immediately to stimulate the soft tissue to release the spasm. It doesn’t matter where the cramp is, or what the cause of the cramp is. This does not replace any of the usual hydration or electrolyte replacement. It is designed for an acute fix and will help no matter what the cause.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
Spray it into your mouth. Repeat in 30 to 60 seconds if necessary. You should carry a bottle with you so you can use it on demand. A 25mL spray bottle provides about 80 precisely-measured squirts.
WHEN SHOULD I START TO USE IT?
As soon as you feel your muscle tighten, or twitch or any of your usual signs that you might be going to seize up, take a dose. (A couple of sprays is enough).
It works in seconds: keep it by the bed if you get cramp at night so it is ready to use immediately.
If you get cramp during exercise take a dose and keep walking, running, cycling etc and take another spray if the symptoms haven’t been knocked on the head in a 30 seconds to a minute.
If you get it early enough it can be enough to stop it coming on. Or if you are really pushing hard it will delay the real onset of the cramp. If the cramp does come on fully – take a dose as often as you need it as long as the symptoms persist. It is usually enough to dampen down or take the edge off the cramp so that you don’t loose valuable time during an event.
The developers of the formula report that they have only seen a handful of people over the 10 years — this has been in the market in New Zealand— on whom it has had no effect. If you are an athlete who is completely dehydrated or are sick on race day and get into a really depleted state, it will have trouble working, especially if you just try it at the end of the event when you are completely cramped up. If you do usually cramp up after a race, not during, and so don’t want to carry it, take some as soon as you finish and repeat a few doses over the following couple of hours.
CAN I TAKE IT WHEN I AM TAKING OTHER MEDICATION?
Yes, Cramp-Stop will not interact with ‘allopathic’ medications. That is why it is so good for anyone who gets cramp at night. Some of these people may be on medications that can produce cramp as a side effect, and Cramp-Stop will bring them quick relief. It is much better for you than taking something like Quinine on a regular basis, as Quinine has side effects. And it s safe for those taking Warfarin (a blood thinner used by heart patients which can often cause cramp at night), asthma medications , and diabetes medications.
Cram-Stop can be stored at room temperatures without losing effectiveness. However, do not leave the bottle sitting in direct sunlight or in high temperatures.
